Barbara Giza, Ph.D., Associate Professor at University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, Head of Department of Journalism and Social Communication. Film studies specialist at National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute in Warsaw. Author of books and articles on film, and about connections between film and literature and their historical, social and anthropological context, researcher and filmmaker (documentary). Interested in history of film, film and history, film theory, history and theory of screenwriting, film criticism, film journalism, political and social contexts of the film, autobiographism in film, film adaptations of literary works. Member of FIPRESCI.

Kok Siew-Wai
Malaysia


From Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kok Siew-Wai started out as a video artist, now active as a vocal improviser and artist-curator. She received her B.A. in Media Study at the State University of New York in Buffalo; and her M.F.A. in Electronic Integrated Arts at Alfred University, USA. She based in USA from 1998-2005. Siew-Wai has shown her video works, curatorial video programmes and performed in Asia, Europe, Canada and USA. She has participated in festivals such as CTM Festival 2019 (Germany), allEars Improvised Music Festival 2018 (Norway), Nusasonic 2018 (Indonesia), Kaohsiung Film Festival 2018 (Taiwan), Singapore International Film Festival 2015, Asian Meeting Festival 2015 (Japan), Asian Film & Video Art Forum 2015 (South Korea), Bangkok Experimental Film Festival 2012 (Thailand), Malaysia-Japan Video Art Exchange 2009-2010, International Film Festival Rotterdam 2007 (Netherlands), Les Rencontres Internationales 2007 (France) amongst others. Siew-Wai has a deep passion for the experimental and improvised arts. Since 2006, she and her peers has been organizing many DIY video screenings and improvised music events. Siew-Wai is the co-founder and co-director of the Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film, Video & Music Festival (KLEX) since 2010. She’s currently teaching at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University in Malaysia.



 

Nick Jordan

Nick Jordan is an artist-filmmaker based in Manchester (UK). His award-winning hybrid documentary films have been shown widely at international exhibitions and festivals, including Innsbruck International Biennale (Austria); BFI London Film Festival (UK); Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (France); Sheffield Doc/Fest (UK); São Paulo International Short Film Festival (Brazil); Kassel Dokfest (Germany); Documenta, Madrid (Spain). Jordan's films have been the subject of special focus programmes at the London Short Film Festival (UK); Minimalen (Trondheim, Norway); Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur (Switzerland); HOME Artist Film Weekend (Manchester, UK), and he is a programmer for Braziers International Film Festival (UK). www.nickjordan.info
