DOCILE BODIES tells about the utopian journey of the Carthaginian commander Hannibal Barca who in the winter of 218 BC crossed the Alps at the head of an army of 90,000 infantry, 12,000 cavalry and 37 elephants. The goal is to turn the fate of the known world, defeating Rome the "Great Power" in the most memorable of wars.
World domination is the object of contention. The story is act by the prisoners /actors of the theater company of the Torre del Gallo prison in Pavia. They work on the staging of "Hannibal" in a year's workshop conducted by the theater therapist Stefania Grossi. An original theatrical work based on the stories of Polibio, in which the utopia of Hannibal's journey, told by the defeated and the guilty, challenges us. It awakens us from the torpor of the certainties of the righteous and the victors. As the company's work takes shape, the camera, exposing itself to the landscape, is looking for traces that become signs, as a relationship and echoes of a story that, recited aloud, has already overcome the barriers.
